Nursem, a dermatologically tested, caring skincare brand designed to nourish, nurture and protect hard-working hands has launched a brand new Hand Care Minis set from its bestselling and well-loved product range – the perfect skincare gift in time for Christmas.

The set features Nursem’s most-loved skincare essentials in miniature form.

Available on Nursem.co.uk and in SpaceNK stores now for RRP £15.00, each set includes:

  • x1 Caring Hand Cream Mini 30ml – a fast-absorbing, non-greasy and naturally fragranced formula that contains medical-grade Manuka Honey to soothe and care for hands.

  • x1 Caring Skin Fix Mini 25ml – a rich, fragrance-free formula that can be used as an overnight treatment, including Avocado Oil, Shea Butter & Glycerin to soothe all skin types.

  • x1 Caring Hand Wash Mini 30ml – an SLS-free and soap-free ultra-gentle hand wash that cleans like traditional soap, but with naturally derived ingredients, Pro-Vitamin B5 and Glycerin to protect the skin's natural barrier.

For every Hand Care, the Mini set purchased Nursem provides a month’s supply of hand care an NHS nurse or midwife – the Nursem Promise. The pledge has helped over 309,665 NHS staff and is part of Nursem’s mission to give free hand care to ever since NHS nurses and midwives by 2025.

The brand was launched in 2019 via a successful Crowdfunder by a paediatric nurse, Antonia, and her husband Jonny Philp after Antonia suffered from sore, cracked and bleeding hands as a result of handwashing, which forced her to take sick leave. She counts herself as one of the 87% of nurses in the UK who suffer from contact dermatitis because of excessive hand washing, which is estimated to cost the NHS up to £9m a year.

The new Hand Care Minis set comes recently after Nursem’s launch of a Caring Hand Sanitiser, which uses innovative Hypochlorous Acid to kill up to 99.99% of harmful viruses and bacteria whilst being as gentle on the skin as water and doesn’t have the drying effects of traditional alcohol gel sanitisers.

When speaking about the Nursem’s Caring Hand Sanitiser, London-based dermatologist, Dr Cristina Psomadakis said: “As a dermatologist, I have seen first-hand how harsh alcohol gels can be on the skin, particularly for those with conditions like eczema or psoriasis, especially as we enter the colder months. Regular hand washing and sanitising can really damage the skin barrier, leading to dry and cracked skin. However, it is more important than ever that we continue to take hygiene measures that reduce the spread of COVID-19.”

“That’s why I am thrilled that Nursem has launched their innovative Caring Hand Sanitiser. Instead of alcohol gel, it relies on Hypochlorous acid, a gentle ingredient found in all mammals including humans. Our immune systems naturally produce Hypochlorous acid when they encounter infection. When used in a sanitiser spray, Hypochlorous acid is effective in decontaminating a variety of bacteria and viruses, including COVID-19. As the formula does not contain any alcohol or fragrance and has a neutral pH, it is much gentler on the skin.”

“I love that the Caring Hand Sanitiser comes in a spray; that makes it so versatile because it can be used on surfaces and everyday items along with hands. I carry one in my purse so I can use it on my commute to work and have it in my office. And particularly close to my heart is the Nursem Promise; the company’s ongoing dedication to providing NHS staff with freehand care with each product sold.“
